You must be wondering who would take time to create a web site on Kris Draper ? Well, maybe I can answer some of you question...
My name is Sandra and i'm 32 years old. I've been following hockey since I was 5 years old. Growing up in Montreal, you really have no choice then watching Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday. Also, I grew up being a Montreal Canadian fan (yes, I know, I know), but back then, Montreal Canadian were the Hockey Team. They had pride to wear the CH on their jersey. But things changed, and I also changed my taste in hockey team.
So, let's go back to 1991, when a certain Martin Lapointe got drafted by the Detroit Red Wings. Well, Martin being from the Montreal area, he was one player that I did follow since he was playing junior with the Laval Titans. That is how my taste of team changed to the Detroit Red Wings.
When I started watching the games more carefully, I realized that my type of player was like Keith Primeau and from there, he became my favorite Detroit Red Wings. He was the name that I had put in back of my first Detroit Red Wings jersey. Then, in 1996, I got the bad news that the Red Wings traded him to Hartford for Brendan Shanahan. I was really upset about the news, but moved on and check for another player that I would like. I started liking Slava Kozlov for the way he played the game, but the player who really stole my attention was Kris Draper. I never found a player who was a full package player. Not afraid to play in the corner or to play rough. He's not the type of player that you will see his name on the top list of scorer, but he's the type of player that you need in a team, with heart, shows up every night and every practice and will play whatever position you ask him to. He's the perfect hockey player.....
